The first-ever online get together for members of the Downey board will be held on Sunday - November 22 at 2PM Central Time. Everyone here is invited!
I will be hosting, using the Zoom meeting program. If you would like to join in on the fun, then drop me a PM with your e-mail address. By the end of next week, I will send you a link/meeting ID number to join us. For security purposes, please do not share the link/meeting ID. I will have a virtual "waiting room" setup and will have to let each of you in. Don't worry if you can't make it on time. I'm hoping to go for at least an hour and you may come and go as you please. Hope to see you then! |

Just a couple of quick notes...
I've had about 15 people asking to join so far. In order to give everyone time to talk, I think we should limit it to about 20 or so. If all goes well, we can certainly do more meetings in the future. So, if you think you'd like to join, I'll take a few more requests. Just drop me a PM with your e-mail address. It doesn't hurt to have a Zoom account (you can create one for free), but it's not necessary just to join a meeting, as long as you have the link to join (which I'll be sending to you before the meeting). Sometimes the link doesn't work and in that case you can go to Zoom (if you have an account) and simply type in the meeting ID (which I'll also send). You can join with just your smart phone, but I've found the most stable connection is usually a desktop setup with a webcam (you can still join even if you don't have video capabilities, we just won't be able to see you. And, you can turn your video off and on if you wish.). It really is very simple to navigate. All you need to do is show up! If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them. |

It looks like we have more than enough that want to attend the meeting now.
I'll be posting some reminders here during the week. My plan is to e-mail everyone the link on Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone that showed up for the meeting. We went a little over 2 hours and could've gone at least 2 more!

The meeting was amazing!!! Thank you so much for hosting it, Paul, and thank you to everybody who came and everybody who contributed. I really could have gone longer, hearing the fascinating stories and sharing tips and techniques.
While I consider myself an amateur compared to most of you, it felt great to be able to sit and listen and occasionally hopefully add some useful content. This was a can't-miss event...
