Does the USA single mix (by Shelly Yakus) of Cutting Crew's "One For The Mockingbird" exist on any cd in any country, commercially or promotionally?
The single mix is a lot more rockin' than the lp version, albeit with only 4 decibels of dynamic range on the 45.

Andy: When you ask a question like this about a song/possible promo from 1987 (by FAR the "black hole" of ALL 45v on CD promo years) if it's not already in Pat's book, the answer will almost always be NO. Even the long and helpful Hitmakers V/A series didn't begin 'til '88. But 3 of the major labels (Capitol, Columbia/Epic and Virgin) did happen to put out between 2 and 4 1987 "label samplers" each. These, the then almost-never-made-yet, ULTRA-rare promo CD single, or an import would be your ONLY hopes for 1987. VERY luckily for you, Cutting Crew was on Virgin, and on a 5-track sampler called "Singles Scene: A Virgin Compilation" (PR 2018), cut 5, titled simply "Mockingbird", with a listed time of (4:06), has the 45 mix. That this exists is SO unlikely, I feel like you won lotto!

Thanks for the info!
The only problem is I haven't "won the lotto" until I find the promo, or at least a dupe of it...
