          | When Love Comes to Town by U2 & B.B. King from 1989's Rattle & Hum was released with two lengths: the LP and 45 version at 4:17, and a short version running 3:31.
I was trying to determine which version radio played and didn't have much luck with Discogs.

There was a CD single promo that had the 4:17 version and a 7" 45 RPM that had the 4:17 version. There was at least one 12" (with several tracks) released as a promo with the short version.

I suspect most stations would have been pulling from the vinyl 45 or the CD single, but can anyone in radio at the time (or listening heavily to the radio at the time) confirm which version their station played?

          | I don't recall any of the radio stations in Chicago playing the 3:31 version. I think the first CD single was the 3" CD Maxi-Single. I thought the AOR stations took the 7:28 'Live from the Kingdom Mix' and did their own in house
edits of it, because it sounded Live, but without all the added vocalizations. That's what I remember, anyway. -
