The 45 version of "Good Time Charlie" by Bobby Bland (Duke 402, from
1966) runs about 2:15, according to the 45 dubs that are posted on
YouTube. The lyrics for the 45 version at about 1:54 include the line "...I said
they call me, they call me Good Time Charlie..." However, on CD
appearances of that song, that line is "...whoa, they call me, they call me
Good Time Charlie." Most CD appearances are titled "Good Time Charlie
(Part 1)" and run about 2:32; One CD -- The Voice: Duke Recordings
1959-69 -- has that song with a timing similar to the 45, but that lyric
line is the same as on other CDs. The additional 20 or so seconds on the
CD versions do not include the lyric line from the 45, nor does it appear
anywhere else in the lyrics. The B-side of the 45 is an instrumental version
of the song, not a Part 2 with lyrics, so the question is, are the versions on
CD simply a different vocal take than on the 45?

That must be the case Randy. Probably the same as what
happened with "Turn On Your Love Light" and "Ain't Nothing
You Can Do." Both of those songs are on various CDs, some
have the hit 45 version, some have an alternate take. I
have "Good Time Charlie (Part 1)" on the 2001 double CD set
The Anthology and the song runs 2:32, ends cold and has the
alternate line just like the other CD releases you
described (so it doesn't match the 45 dubs you found
online).
