Just a quick note for anybody wanting to recreate the commercial single, it appears to be an early fade of the LP version.
I'm not clear, however, if https://www.discogs.com/release/2138949-Thompson-Twins-You-Take-Me-Up - this "Special Edit" was the promo most radio stations played, or if stations that picked it up played the early fade.

I do remember hearing the song on the radio. It got to #44. No idea if it was the promo edit or regular single.
The US promo Special Edit inserts a copy of the 2nd chorus (2:18 to 2:37) at 0:46. And it fades early like the regular single. This makes it run about 4:22, I reckon. The printed 4:09 is wrong, in any case.
There's a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAPNvxSrV9E - rip on YouTube but it's 4:20 because it cuts off the fade too soon.
I can't find a complete rip of the retail 45, either. It's just an early fade, but every digitization I've found truncates the fadeout.
The UK 45 says 4:06 but I think runs more like 4:08. The US 45 says 3:55 but I think runs more like 4:03 or 4:04. Anyone have it to say for sure?
