I received two "...S.W.A.T." promo 45s at my college station, with the reservicing stemming from the record's slow start out of the gate, looking like anything but a hit as it made a hardly-impressive 90-90-88-84-81 move over the first five weeks of its Hot 100 run. By that point, more than one station not yet on the record probably assumed it was a stiff and may have tossed their initially-serviced promo copies.

Both of my ABC promo 45s are Columbia Santa Maria vinyl pressings, with identical labels. Both are also 2:47 mono/2:47 stereo. The deadwax matrix numbers do differ between the two, however:

Copy 1: "16845-M (a "7" in a circle) > (caret symbol) "
        "16845-S (a "2" in a circle) >"

Copy 2: "16845-M (an "8" in a circle) >"
        "16845-S (a "1" in a circle) >"

We did not receive any longer-length promo 45.

Not that I can hear, Mark. But I'll send you the intros of each of my four promo 45 sides as described above, so that you can stain the slides and study them under the microscope. ;)

Thanks John and Jim for providing promo 45 dubs. And no,
the intro is not clipped on any of the 45 dubs so I'm
safe in assuming this is a glitch in the CD era.

I only have 2 of the (2:47) running CD sources. One is
the Rhino Billboard Top hits of 1976, and the other is a
Time-Life set "Sounds Of The 70's - TV Themes" but on my
set this track is stereo. The one Pat lists in the
database with the same title has this track in mono.

I have a feeling that all CD sources for the short 45 are
clipped if it happened at the initial analog transfer.

Edit: forgot to add, I did confirm the long and short 45
versions are the same remix. So it seems they started
with the 3:20 LP mix .. remixed that into the 4:07
"discoteque" mix.. then edited that mix for the 45.
