Does anyone know if the single version of Sting's Love Is The Seventh Wave appears on an import CD (perhaps the European/Asian/Australian version of 1994's greatest hits), since it remains unavailable in the US? I believe the video uses the single mix so perhaps it can be found on DVD...

I have the West German "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" CD. iTunes shows a 3:30 running time.

I have the Argentina edition of "Fields of Gold: 1984-1994)" which has the exact UK 17 track configuration. iTunes shows a 3:32 running time.

I scanned both tracks at the end, and the only thing I noticed is the "Turtles" version has a longer fade out, while the "Fields" completely fades out in about 5 seconds. It sounds like they retained the amplitude longer than in the other track.

The mix sounds the same on both, perhaps if you can tell me any distinctive characteristics on the 45 I can confirm.

The "Love Is The Seventh Wave" video was not included on the "Fields of Gold" video compilation, I just checked my DVD and searched the listing for VHS and laserdisc, same configuration.

If anyone has the 1988 release "Sting: The Videos", it can be found there. I don't think it was released on DVD. Best quality available on that one so far seems to be laserdisc.

Good info, Johann. The 45 version is quite different than the LP. Mainly, there's a verse in the middle that completely changes key (both the instrumentation and Sting's vocal--which is resung).
