"Please Please Me" is, appallingly, the same take used on all stereo copies of the Please Please Me album but with drums and vocals now placed
center. So its the same awkward alternate take with John messing up the lyrics towards the end and the out of sync harmonica from the mono take
flown in. I'm amazed that this is the best they thought they could do.

The unused Andy White take of "Please Please Me" was only issued on the first Anthology album.

It seems that in this case, perhaps Giles & co. were too invested in re-creating the 'familiar' version (with the mistakes they probably think we 'endearing' lol) in wide stereo and not enough in creating a
superior listening experience.
