Since Ron recently brought up the Tina Turner compilation Simply The Best in another thread, it reminded me of this unique "best of" promo that I think some of us have.

The front insert is plain white with a picture of Tina standing with her arms over her head. Only the catalog number DPRO-79777 is printed on the front. No other text appears on the front cover.

The tray card spine simply says "PLAY THIS IN STORE" and the catalog number--no mention of Tina Turner. The back of the tray card has a VH1 logo in the top left corner and the song titled printed along the right side.

As for the disc label, there is no mention of either "Play This In Store" or VH1; however, the disc label is the only place that actually has "Tina Turner" printed on it.

The tracks are as follows (including printed times):

1. What's Love Got To Do With It (3:48)
2. Let's Stay Together (3:37)
3. It's Only Love (Live) (duet w/Bryan Adams) (3:31) (Was this the music video version?)
4. Better Be Good To Me (3:38)
5. Private Dancer (4:00)
6. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome) (4:14)
7. One Of The Living (4:10) (This is the 45 version.)
8. Typical Male (4:15)
9. Two People (4:08)
10. Proud Mary (Live) (4:40)
11. The Best (4:08)
12. Steamy Windows (4:03)
13. Tearing Us Apart (Live) (duet w/Eric Clapton) (4:13)
14. Look Me In The Heart (3:42)
15. Love Thing (4:27)
16. Nutbush City Limits (Live) (3:23)

The CD is copyright 1993 Capitol Records, Inc.

Good stuff, Aaron!

I compared all of these with Simply The Best, and I
found that all the tracks are digital clones of Simply
The Best
(of the songs it has in common).

The big score on this disc is "One Of The Living", which
isn't on Simply The Best.
There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.

Besides the vinyl 45 this promo CD must be the only other place to get the
45 version of that song (besides the import two disc set
Platinum Collection). Is that correct?
