Any chance you will be posting a spreadsheet of all the songs when
you wrap up your post? Thinking many would appreciate your list in a
searchable form. Thanks

I think that can be arranged!

Well, it appears that I hit the wall as far as how much I could cram into one post.

So, I had to split the topic into 2 halves.

I still hope to have it wrapped up by Labor Day.

Thanks for the hard work Paul. I know radio station surveys
many times vary from Billboard/Cashbox etc. You mentioned
doing a 50s list. It has been my experience that only major
markets may have printed a survey. In small and medium
markets many radio surveys were in the local newspaper.
There are a few of those in the database.

Not only that, but those "surveys" of smaller stations were not necessarily reflective of what the station played for most
of their broadcast day. Relatively few of those smaller stations "rocked around the clock" (so to speak), but relegated
rock & roll to a couple nights a week, Saturday afternoons, etc. while the rest of the time they were much more adult-
oriented or even block-programmed. My hometown station was that way until the mid-1960s.

If you look at the "surveys" on ARSA from smaller stations of that era, you'll notice it's credited to one DJ, who was
probably allowed to play more or less what he wanted for 3 hours a week.
