Interesting. What are the differences that you are hearing, Ed? I only have the "Up Your Alley" version.

Upon reviewing the version from the CD single Ed has, and comparing it to the CD version on Up Your Alley, I cannot tell a difference. Now, the next question is do Ed and I have different pressings of Up Your Alley with his being a different version of "I Hate Myself...?"

I just pulled out my copy, and the matrix number is:

DIDP-070920   1

Now, I do know for sure that the Fit To Be Tied compilation contains a re-recording of the song. For that reason, I had to pick up a copy of the full-length CD Up Your Alley.

Ed, it sounds like the version you thought was from Up Your Alley is actually the version from Fit To Be Tied, which is a re-recording. The 45 and LP version are the same for this one.

Ed, just pulled out my cd, Fit To Be Tied. This begins with the drum roll. No cymbal tap. I hope this helps.

I also pulled out the TM Century disc for this and it features the cymbal tap. That helped me to compare.

Of course, I can't find my promo single for this one, even after I alphabetized them all...I'll find it while I'm looking for something else...

Guys, both sides of my 1988 promo 45 has the cymbal tap on the intro. We did not receive a promo CD single for it.
