pat
the 45's face states the run time as 3:53 but it actually runs 4:00.....some of the versions in the db, specifically the gm gh cd, fades the song 3 seconds early.....this should be noted in the db..... |

Pat, just providing to you the EXACT details, right off of my promo CD single (ASCD-9560). Based on my promo CD single's details, your current notation for it is slightly off:
1-Album Version (listed 4:01; actual 3:59) 2-Edited Remix (listed 5:29; actual 5:28) |

I'm familiar with the single / album version. I'm also familiar with the 12" version.
...but what is this? If you can't access it, it's the original four minute song... but a much drier mix and with strings overdubbed. It says it's from the Franklin compilation, "Jewels In The Crown: All-Star Duets With The Queen." I'd just never heard this before and wondered if anybody else had stumbled across it. I assume it's a new mix for this compilation but I don't see any remix credits. Edited by NightAire |

Wow, I've never heard that mix, either. Interesting discovery!

I have the "Jewels In The Crown" CD and can confirm that this version is on there. There's no notation in the liner notes of it being an Alternate Mix or anything like that.
It does say: Produced by Narada Michael Walden for Perfection Light Productions Mixed by Serban Ghenea at MixStar Studios, Virginia Beach, Virginia Additional Pro Tools Engineering: John Hanes Assistant Mix Engineers: Tim Roberts & Kevin Mahoney Edited by thecdguy |

Thanks for the info, cdguy!
IIRC, Pro Tools wasn't introduced until the early 1990s, so that mix has to be well after the fact. |

Nice find. I totally dismissed this compilation but
that's why I became a member of this forum. This is a great mix! It was not included on the Funkytowngrooves double disc reissue of Aretha. Edited by AutumnAarilyn |
