Although this song is not found on a domestic CD, I believe my Canadian buddy, David Clark, told me a while back that there is a Canadian "best-of" CD collection which features this song on it. My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (2:31), but an actual time of (2:34).

yes I did, Jim! And, it sounds great (from tape) and runs 2:34!

The reason why I add "from tape" is that so much Canadian stuff from the early 70s is simply not available on CD in good form. MUCH comes from vinyl (often poorer quality than what I and my collecting buddy Dave have) if it exists at all. So sad...

Interesting. I did not know that about Canadian imports. I guess I've been lucky -- the Lighthouse, Terry Jacks, Dan Hill, Frank Mills and Anne Murray CDs I've bought from Canada have all been from tape sources and sounding excellent!

David:

Just out of curiosity... What is the Canadian CD title that contains Wednesday's "Last Kiss" from a tape source?

And is that Canadian CD on the Unidisc label?

Thanks to the restrictive Canadian content laws governing CKLW this song by Wednesday got lots of airplay and was heard here in the USA on The Big Eight. I cannot remember if the group had a follow up to this or not.

Wednesday had follow-up hits in Canada, but not so much in the US. They
include "Teen Angel" (BB #74, CA #15 1974), "Fly Away" (CA #21 1974, never
been stereo), "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" (CA #49 1975), and "Loving You
Baby" (CA #6 1976). They were all over the radio where I lived in Ontario,
Canada back then.

And yes, answering Todd's 13 year old question, it is the Unidisc label.
