Pat:

Thought I'd point out something regarding Brian McKnight featuring Mase's "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" in the 10th edition. In the MASE section, you comment that "You Should Be Mine" is the "45 version with rap" on the From There to Here CD (Motown 440066114). Yet in the BRIAN MCKNIGHT section, you claim this song is the "radio version with rap" on that same disc.

I looked up the commercial single track listing and it goes as follows (the run times have not been confirmed for accuracy):

1) LP Version - 4:49
2) Radio Version No Rap - 4:09

Given this information, the version of "You Should Be Mine" on the From There to Here CD couldn't be the 45 Version with Rap since this version doesn't appear on the commercial single. Now, there was a promo CD single released by MCA under catalog number MECP 293. One eBay seller currently lists the track listing and run times on this disc as follows:

1) Radio Version w/Rap - 4:38
2) Radio Version No rap - 4:09

As you can see, the Radio Version with Rap is on here, but it doesn't match the 4:13 run time listed in the 10th edition on the From There to Here disc.

So exactly which version of "You Should Be Mine" is on this particular CD?

Todd, one thing is certain and that is the current comment is incorrect for the song "You Shoud Be Mine" on the cd "From There To Here" under both Brian McKnight and Mase. First we have to determine what the 45 version is since the official 45 would be the cassette single and I only have the commercial cd single. I also just ordered the dj cd single you mentioned that includes the 2 "radio versions" so I can update everyone when this cd single arrives.

Just got the dj cd single today with the two tracks 1) radio version with rap (4:38) and 2) radio version with no rap (4:09). The version that appears on "From Here To There" is the "radio version with rap" faded at the 4:13 point. Since you say the lead off track on the commercial single is the LP version running 4:49 then there really is no 45 version. Now, was this the cassette single that stated the lead off track was the LP version or was this a cd single that you are citing?

The track listing I provided showing the LP version as the lead track was posted by an eBay seller for the commercial CD single. I haven't come across a cassette single copy yet. Does anyone have one?

Thought I'd resurrect this thread from several years of dormancy since my last question was never answered... Does anyone have a cassette single copy of Brian McKnight featuring Mase's "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" who can tell us which version of the song is featured on it?
