my commercial 45, issued as atlantic 3776, states a run time on the label as 4:56 when the song actually runs 4:52....if you fade out the last 0:04 from (4:48-4:52) you'll recreate the proper 45 version....this accounts for the differing run times in the db......this should be noted in the db....

Abagon reports his commercial 45 copy of ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" (Atlantic3776) has a printed record label time of 4:56, but actually runs 4:54. The matrix number etched on the runout grooves is: ST-A-39224-3 (s167177 MP). Ed, is this a different pressing than yours?

Here's another one where I remember TM Stereo Rock playing a version where the intro piano only goes for eight measures as opposed to sixteen. Was this a custom edit or or was there indeed a promo that had this edit?
I have sent a simulation I created of this to Aaron (I just happen to have his email addy) and perhaps he can chime in to clarify this. |
