When this song charted on the Billboard(#11) in 1988. The 45 was released as "MOTOWN YESTERYEAR SERIES".
The actual 45 running time is (2:53) , The listed time is "2:49" on the record label. (MOTOWN YESTERYEAR SERIES Y 448F)

When this single re-entered the charts, Billboard ran a little piece on how that this was only available as a re-issue single and that it might not go that high unless "Motown can rush more singles into the marketplace". They eventually re-printed the single and even added a picture sleeve.

Not many re-issue singles have charted on the Hot 100, although Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" is another that came close. When it was featured in "Miami Vice" the song Bubbled-Under for a few weeks in late 1984 on the re-issue ("oldies series") single.

Pat, Thank you for reflecting my run time info as always.
Please change to "1988" on the data base, because it was written "this song was also a hit in 1968; the actual 45 running time of the 1968 release is...".
