Can the 45 version be created from the LP version?

It can, but I don't know the edit points without comparing the two.

That's an interesting one - because NO ONE plays the radio edit anymore on-air. But I'm sure it starts at the snare drum at 2:34 - that's how I've always recreated it. The pickup point should be on the snare at 2:49.
LOL - after looking for it online ... Mine sounds a bit quick, but this video link shows the edit. Listen at 2:40 - snip! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x26lcg_rod-stewart-some-guy s-have-all-the_music |

Easy edit here. I recreated the edit I found on TM Century's GoldDisc 229 and The A-List Disc 22, and I assume that it's an accurate representation of the true 45 edit.
For the LP version, I used the 4-CD Storyteller (1990), which runs 4:32 (4:33.1 with outro silence) and at 126.3 BPM throughout. Using Storyteller as the source: Keep 0:00.0 to 2:34.3 of the LP version. Edit at the snare. Remove the 32 beats from 2:34.3 to 2:49.5 of the LP version. Keep 2:49.5 to 4:33.1 (end) of the LP version. Your mixdown will run 4:16 (4:17.9 with outro silence), with an edit at 2:34. Edited by crapfromthepast |

There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.

I usually assume the GoldDiscs are 100% incorrect, but in this case, they actually got it right. I double checked it. |
