Regarding Glenn Frey's "You Belong to the City", the database currently states that commercial copies are all 5:51. This must be based on the time stated on the record label because abagon reports the actual run time is 5:49. I know this is a minor :02 difference, but the 5:49 time is in line with most of the song's database CD appearances.
Incidentally, should the two CD entries of "You Belong to the City" running 4:22-4:23 contain a "this is the DJ edit" comment? |

Todd do you really think it is necessary to repeat information that is given under the song title such as the dj edit comment?

I like having the information repeated, because it's easier to spot when glancing at the list. Also, in 98% of all the other cases where a DJ edit appears on CD, you do indicate "this is the DJ edit." It just keeps the database consistent.

I completely echo Aaron's position, Pat, but the final decision of course is yours.

my commercial 45 issued as mca 52651 states the run time as 5:51 but actually runs 5:49 like most of the db entries...

Does the DJ edit trim out the intro sax section and then
fades the instrumental outro early? This is how I recall hearing the song on the radio and was originally only acquainted with the nearly six minute version from the song's video. Has the DJ edit ever appeared on any album? |

It's on at least one Various Artists compilation whose title escapes me. I don't think it's ever been on any of Glenn Frey's albums or compilations. I think you're also correct about the trimming of the intro and early fade on the outro. Edited by thecdguy |

Yes the radio edit trims the saxophone opening, and the
ending. If anyone is looking to listen to the radio edit, PM me. |
