The album could have been mixed long before the single was mixed. The album could have been held up by any number of things, like working on another track, mixing, legal issues. The desire could have been to make the single sound different to encourage people to buy the album. Or, maybe Rick james just felt the single mix counded better on the radio. He's not here, so we can't ask him. |
