Sound Of Market technically was one street down after Market on 11th Street. I don't remember seeing any promos at Sound Of Market, but then I wasn't specifically looking for them, either. If they had what I wanted, I would buy it. They had some great stuff there, though. I definitely miss it and the Tower Records stores that used to be in Philly.

Then it was def. The Funk-O-Mart. I remember always
having to walk down a long flight of stairs to get to it
(and they called themselves "The Underground of Sound")
but it was huge and they had an incredible selection
including imports, promos and posters. (I know I bought
the Expose "Seasons Change" promo cd there.) Many years
later they moved further down Market Street towards the
waterfront, but it was still in a basement and I was
known as the "Backstreet Boy-Boy" because, even though I
was already in my mid/late 20's I would grab any new
Backstreet Boys promo vinyl I could lay my hands on. last
I checked, the store was closed down. Broke my heart. I
used to haunt there, Sound of Market and Armand's Records
in college. Good times,
