On the various CDs listed in the database, the run times of the song "Having A Party" by Sam Cooke range from (2:22) to (2:34). I timed my U.S. commercial 45 (RCA Victor 8036) at (2:27). the label gives the time as (2:23).
On CD the run times of the flip of this two-sided hit, "Bring It On Home To Me", range from (2:37) to (2:42). I timed my 45 at (2:33). The label gives the time as (2:37). In comparing the 45 to the versions on the The Man Who Invented Soul set, I do not detect a speed difference with either song. Both songs simply run longer on the box set. |

Anyone familiar with the new French import CD "The Complete Singles 1956-1962? I don't have access to my computer to capture the clip and look at it but it sounds like mono versions of these two songs at least.
