My original 45 has a key change (goes up a half step) after the bridge that's not on any of the CD versions I have heard over the years, although it might be on CD somewhere. The arrangement is identical, and her vocal is very similar.

My stock 45 of "My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own" (MGM 12923) has no key change after the bridge, nor anywhere else. It remains in the same key from start to finish.
Deadwax is 60-XY-125-37-4. |

Deadwax on mine is 60-XY-125-1, MGM K12923. I listened to it last night before I posted to make sure I wasn't remembering incorrectly, so if need be I can post a clip of the key change.

Does anybody else have this version on an original MGM 45? Mine ends with a quick drum fill at 2:24.

Vanmeter, I just pulled my original 1960 MGM 12923 stock 45 copy, and its
deadwax info exactly matches what YahShure has posted earlier in this thread: 60-XY-125-37-4. |

Vanmeter, thanks for posting the sample clip. That's a fascinating variation, and you certainly can't miss the key change! I wonder if Connie balked at the prospect of hitting those higher notes during live performances?
The label on my 45 differs somewhat from yours: Mine has a listed time of 2:26, rather than 2:25. It also adds two lines of credits below Connie's name: "Orch. Conducted By Gus Levene" and "Arr. By Joe Sherman". |

This was my mother's copy from when the song was a hit; this is what I've heard all my life and is the "right" version to my ears. I only recently realized all 45s didn't have this version.
