I didn't find a thread on this one; can Jim or somebody else tell me if the DJ copies of Luther Vandross's "Here And Now" were an early fade, or an edit? I'll hang up and listen for the answer. :)

ron, it's an edit....on the lp vers the first vocals are at
0:11 and start with 'One look in your eyes and there I
see', the edit starts at the 0:11 as well, but starts with
the vocals, 'I look in your eyes and there I see'....so it
edits out the full first verse......do you need a copy of
the edit?...lmk...

I always thought that edit sounded terrible. I get why they did it (it gets you to hook earlier by making the edit) but it disturbs the feel of the song.

But in the long run it didn't matter I guess, it was still a huge hit.

Yes, I'd love to have a "safety copy" to work from; thank you! (Especially if the edit's as bad as you describe, I want to make sure I'm not making it worse... or better...)

Thanks for the reference file!

Thanks to Ed's help, I can now confirm it is one simple edit taking out 0:11 to 0:53, and then an early fade.

Thank you again!

If the original edit is too jarring, you can always use the custom edit that was
used for the music video.

Take out 1:57 to 3:24 and if you have the edit.
