OK, this was never released as a single (should've been, though), but this did get some airplay on adult alternative
stations in 1986-87. Here's my question.

The original release of this song was on Back In The High Life. My copy is from Chronicles.
Chronicles remixed a number of Winwood's songs ("Talking Back To The Night" and "Valerie" [which is where the
hit version came from] notably). What I don't know is whether the version of "My Love's Leavin'" is exactly the same
on both CDs.

Can anyone fill in the blanks?
Doug

It's the same version, but the version on Chronicles cuts off the attack on the opening note; I think it's a minor indexing error.

The two remixed tracks were from Steve Winwood's 1982 album, and were originally produced very sparsely. The thought at the time was to modernize the sound of the songs so they could be released as singles. "Valerie" turned out to be a big hit in its remixed form. "Talking Back To The Night" was a respectable follow-up.

Robert Palmer remixed a bunch of tracks for his Addictions greatest hits CD. It was a thing to do in the late '80s.
There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.

Always found it odd that it was never released as a single, as it's so radio
friendly. In fact it's the only song that wasn't.
