OT: Touch - Don’t You Know What Love Is

I can now confirm that the mixes of the LP and single versions of Touch's "Don't You Know What Love Is" are identical, and it is simply a matter if editing down the LP version to match the single.

The 45 dub was actually about 0.2% SLOWER than the version from the self-titled "Touch" CD, very much within the margin of error for analog tape, 7" single pressing plants, etc. I'd say they are identical speeds.

I'll give you the edit points but understand on the CD there is over a second of silence before the track starts. If you trim the silence at the beginning first, you're going to want to subtract a second from each time listed below.

The first edit is the trickiest, mainly because you don't have a downbeat to start the edit. The single REALLY helped me line this up properly... but you take out from 0:04.770 to 0:14.037. The edit starts in silence and ends before the snare.

From what is left, remove from 2:53 to 3:12, on the snare right before the word "don't."

Finally, from what is left you'll delete 9 seconds, again from the snare right before vocals, from 3:07 to 3:16.

The resulting file will run approximately 3:21 after you trim the silence from the beginning and depending on how long you think the reverb on the final vocal trails out.
