Eydie Gorme - Blame It On The Bossa Nova. What is the difference between
the 45 and LP version?

"Let's Dance (with countoff) (S) by Chris Montez"

My copy of the 45 has the countoff.
Live in stereo.

Yes so does mine but a number of cd's do not include the countoff.

Aren't you interested in the Byrds Original Singles cd review made by Marty Natchez that he denies he ever wrote?

Pat, if I read things correctly, Marty simply says he did not write a review for the Byrds A's & B's. I think this is a simple case of where the message got confused, since more than one CD was being discussed in the thread.

From that thread, Marty (quoted by Tom) says:
"Pat's recollection of me reviewing a CD of The Byrds' "A's & B's" is inaccurate."

And you even say in the following post:
"For some reason the Byrds A's & B's cd has entered into the discussion and that is not the cd I am referencing."

I think perhaps Tom asked him about the wrong CD?

Nice to see Pat's review of the new and wonderful "Amazing Early '60s". Just a
couple of things...

"West Of The Wall" has been on CD before, as Eric states on their website, it's
"first time on U.S. CD"

Regarding "stereo LP version" for "Monster Mash", this would lead me to
believe that it was originally out in stereo on an LP. But, wasn't its first stereo
appearance in the 80s? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have always
assumed "LP version" to refer to an LP out "in the same era" as a 45 (which
would mean within a few years, not two decades). This is how I've always
interpreted the database.

Let's Dance. Since the 45 had the count-off and assuming all (original) 45s
did, then wouldn't the correct database info be "no count-off" for those
missing it? I THINK that's usually how Pat does it - indicating an anomaly as
such, and leaving the correct versions uncommented. This way, if no
comments are beside an entry, we can assume it to be the 45 version (not
taking into consideration stereo or mono).

David, regarding your "West Of The Wall" comment, the only place I ever
owned that track on CD was the Ace UK import CD "Early Girls". In Pat's db,
this new 3-CD set is currently shown to be its one and only domestic CD
appearance. Based on all of this, it appears to me that Eric's "first time on a
U.S. CD" claim is 100% correct. Do you happen to know of another U.S. "West
Of The Wall" CD appearance, that we've all overlooked?

Jim,

My comment referred to Pat's REVIEW of the CD, nothing about the database
nor Eric's comment on its site. His review states "first time on CD" when, as
you and Eric correctly state, it should be "first time on US CD". Minor, but an
error as it currently sits.

When I read his review and that comment, I was puzzled so I quickly went to
my own database to verify that I indeed had it on CD already (as I thought I
had), albeit not a US CD rather a Canadian one.

sorry if my post was not clear.

If anyone has the vinyl "Let's Dance" LP by Chris Montez could you please report back as to whether the LP appearance of Let's Dance has the countoff included?

All I did was sent Marty a link to the original thread where his name got mentioned. If there was a misinterpretation there it would be on Marty's end, not understanding which album was being talked about when his name was mentioned.

I also think that the songs on that cd set that are sync-ups should be labeled as such, at least on here since the ERIC website won't list them as such.
Live in stereo.
