I'm stumped on this one. I'm listening to Cinderella
(uncensored 45 version) on the Greatest Hits CD and he
sings "...and I said "G-d damn girl don't ya see..."

I don't hear a "I-I-I-I saidyou (strum).

Nor should you, John: you're not going to hear the censored portion if you're listening to the uncensored 45 version on Greatest Hits! Let me add more emphasis to what I'd posted just above:

Here's how the line is sung on the censored version:

"I-I-I-I saidyou [strum] damn..."

Mondayitis, perhaps? ;)

Haha, no Monday-I-I-I-I-tis.

What I was getting at was you can't create a true
censored 45 version from the uncensored version because
of the missing "saidyou (strum)."

I've gotta hear this one again!

Does anyone out there have a clean dub of the stereo censored version?

Andy

I'll take a look to see if I have the promo 45 and send a dub if I do have it.

Sadly, radio now only plays 1 or 2 Firefall songs and
this isn't one of them. I always liked this song and
never really heard it on air after the Spring of 1977.

BTW, Yah Shure's fly in edit was spot on.

Thinking back to your comment from just one day earlier, John: when I heard "Cinderella"'s opening guitar strums on the radio this afternoon, I laughed out loud, then quickly realized I 'd better pay attention to see which version it would be.

Turned out to be the uncensored 45.

In fairness, the classic hits/oldies station in question plays a broader selection than most. But still...
