Cypress Hill - Insane In The Brain

There's no mention in the database yet; however, Cypress Hill just put out a Greatest Hits CD (Columbia 97789-edited version), which has their one and only top 40 hit "Insane In The Brain." I picked up a copy of the edited version of the CD, and the "Radio Edit" is faded out to the (3:27) mark instead of ending cold at (3:33).

The time listed on allmusic.com for the explicit cd is (3:33), so I'm guessing they didn't fade it out on this disc. I don't know if there was a commercial CD single issued in the US, but the cassette maxi uses the explicit LP version as the lead track.

(As a non-top-40-note, the song "How I Could Just Kill A Man," which was a major hit on the rap chart, is issued for the first time on CD in its "Radio Version" with alternate lyrics. Interestingly, the track "Hand On The Pump" was issued in a "Radio Edit" on the commercial CD single, but they chose to issue this one in an alternate take on the clean version of Greatest Hits. I have never heard this "clean" version anywhere else, and it doesn't remove the "n" word on the chorus.)

Ah, so perhaps the "Radio Edit" should be considered the 45 version. There's not much difference between the "Radio Edit" and LP version, except there's a few words that are censored, and the sample at the end that says "I think I'm going crazy" is much louder on the "Radio Edit."

I heard a version of "hand on the pump" on the radio back in 1991 that was censored totally different. They took the "n" word out but very creatively. I think I may have it on tape...I'll dig.

question is.....what accounts for the 0:04-0:05 second diffrences in the tracks in the db...
