Does anybody have the edit points for the Shep Pettibone remix to make the single version (The Morning Sun Remix/Edit)?

Believe it or not, all I have access to right now is the extended version. :-\

You can't edit the the full remix down into the single remix since the opening
is exclusive to the 45 (The Morning Sun Remix/Edit). The instrumental bridge
also has some exclusive parts (i.e. the drums cut out on the full remix). Also
after a closer listen (and I just made my own edit bringing back the missing
lines from the chorus) I believe the full remix and the single remix may be
slightly different. I may need an audio expert to take a closer listen. Aaron?

I pulled my promo CD single, and I agree with John. The two mixes are different in at least some places. As he stated, the intro of the Remix/Edit is nowhere to be found on the full Extended Remix.

Also, the Extended Remix has a lot of bass and not as much high end as the Remix/Edit. If you were to edit the two versions together, you'd need to reduce the bass on the Extended Mix and boost the highs a little to make them match sonically.

I feel like I may be getting better at this stuff since that is exactly what I did
when I made my own edit. Unfortunately the next day when I listened again
it still didn't sound right so I just did the edit straight with no modification to
the bass and treble. I guess I'll have to go back and revisit it. Thank you for
the clarification Aaron. Any suggestions on the best software to change the
highs and lows? I currently use a very old version of Cool Edit Pro. I actually
edited this song in an old version of Adobe Premiere.

Cool Edit Pro is my favorite audio editor. I use 2.1, and there are some
nice EQ tools. It's one of the more difficult things to match between
different sources, though, and it takes a lot of practice, critical listening,
and tinkering to get it right.
