Zoom Meeting!

The first-ever online get together for members of the Downey board will be held on Sunday - November 22 at 2PM Central Time. Everyone here is invited!

I will be hosting, using the Zoom meeting program.

If you would like to join in on the fun, then drop me a PM with your e-mail address. By the end of next week, I will send you a link/meeting ID number to join us. For security purposes, please do not share the link/meeting ID. I will have a virtual "waiting room" setup and will have to let each of you in. Don't worry if you can't make it on time. I'm hoping to go for at least an hour and you may come and go as you please.

Just a couple of quick notes...

I've had about 15 people asking to join so far. In order to give everyone time to talk, I think we should
limit it to about 20 or so. If all goes well, we can certainly do more meetings in the future. So, if you
think you'd like to join, I'll take a few more requests. Just drop me a PM with your e-mail address.

It doesn't hurt to have a Zoom account (you can create one for free), but it's not necessary just to join a
meeting, as long as you have the link to join (which I'll be sending to you before the meeting). Sometimes
the link doesn't work and in that case you can go to Zoom (if you have an account) and simply type in the
meeting ID (which I'll also send). You can join with just your smart phone, but I've found the most stable
connection is usually a desktop setup with a webcam (you can still join even if you don't have video
capabilities, we just won't be able to see you. And, you can turn your video off and on if you wish.). It
really is very simple to navigate. All you need to do is show up!

I definitely want to be a part of it. I've set a reminder on my cell, but please email those of us who responded - with a reminder that day :)

It looks like we have more than enough that want to attend the meeting now.

I'll be posting some reminders here during the week.

My plan is to e-mail everyone the link on Sunday morning.

The meeting will start promptly at:

3PM Eastern - 2PM Central - 1PM Mountain - 12PM Pacific

In fact, I'll probably open it about 10 minutes early, just to make sure everything is working properly.
