The US CD single (which I suppose is technically a maxi-single) has the album version as the lead track, with the "Radio Mix" as track 2. My station only played the "Radio Mix," which is the hit version to my ears. Does the promo CD lead off with (or have exclusively) the "Radio Mix"?

Aaron, the promo CD single I have only has one track on it. Its contents aren't exactly crystal clear, but it is the version we played on-the-air in 1998 - here are its details:
-Sarah McLachlan-"Sweet Surrender" (ASCD-3423) 1-(Non-described version) (listed 4:07; actual 4:04) |

Thanks, Jim! That is most definitely the "Radio Mix." My US CD single does not have any listed times, but the "Radio Mix" has an actual time of 4:04, just like your promo CD. The album version on my CD single, by contrast, only runs 3:59. I wonder if the lone database CD that runs 4:03 is actually the "Radio Mix"?
