Another possible 45 recreation question here. Can the LP version be edited to match the 45?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I've done it. If I can locate my re-created version, I'll hit you up.

my commercial 45 of the loverboy song "when it's over" issued as columbia 02814 states the run time on the label as 3:56 and is an edit of the full length 5:05 cd/lp version....this 45 run time s/b added to the db......thanks aaron for another great edit...

It certainly can. I've never noticed a mix difference (though when it was on the radio, it did sound a little louder) Here are the LP playing times to remove: Remove 0:03-0:08 Remove 0:13 - 0:22 1/2 (lol) Remove 1:06 (right after "cuz") to 1:44 (on the downbeat of the chorus) Then after the first instance of the end refrain, at 4:22, repeat the 4:13 - 4:22 instance three times. So you have the first time, and two more repeated times. Then on the last repeat (#3), start fading at 3:44 on your edited version until about 3:56. I have my custom edit that I made from memory, and I definitely know that it's spot on, except I fade it a little later and quicker. |
