Did T.K. Records ever issue a dedicated promo 45 for "I Get Lifted"? I received a double-A sided DJ 45 for "I Can't Leave You Alone," but when the label flipped the single in favor of the B-side, I was sent a stock copy with a purple "PLUG SIDE" stamp inside a purple ring on the "Lifted" side.

"I Get Lifted" is listed as stereo on my copy, too.

Never saw a dedicated promo single of "I Get Lifted" after it was flipped. T.K. Records reserviced commercial stock pressings with purple "PLUG SIDE" on "I Get Lifted". All of my copies are listed as Stereo but play in Mono. One is a Promo reservice, the other three stock copies. One is Vinyl, the others styrene.

Never mind. :) I answered my own question by reacquainting myself with a record I'd forgotten I had. There was, indeed, a dedicated, double-B-sided promo 45 for "I Get Lifted", shown here next to its double-A-sided promo predecessor, "I Can't Leave You Alone".

Both sides of the "stereo" "I Get Lifted" DJ 45 play mono. Perhaps T.K. meant that having the same mono recording on both sides of the record somehow made the sum total stereo. ;)

Thanks for that post. Solves some curiosity about the existence of the Double B Side promo. Still mono though. Apparently a low budget session as was Rock Your Baby.

This is a UK release on Big Break Records (part of the Cherry Red label). Anyone have any of the previous Big Break releases? Any recommendations or should I avoid this one?

Big Break is a superb label. I have their Denice Williams "Let's Hear It for the Boy" deluxe edition. All remastered from tape -- no disc dubs here.

Todd,

Can you fix the link for 1975 I was trying to research it tonight and had to figure out how to access it.

Also according to a 45 dub I have, Emotion by Helen Reddy has a 45 promo in stereo. So yes it is just mono on the non promo 45. The picture isn't that great, but you can make out the words on the label - stereo.

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

I have a copy, yes it is in stereo. I believe that's the only place to find the 45 version in stereo...on her Capitol GH CD it was mono.
