Is the mono album version identical to the 45 or is it a fold down of the
stereo version? |

That I don't know. Had the mono LP but the copies I had
were all 2/6 matrices, which meant Stereo discs in mono jackets during the famous 1966 Mercury/Philips Stereo single inventory test. Which meant for all 3 so called mono LP copies I've had (including one beat to death promo) that all of them were Stereo discs inside. In that era, mono and stereo discs on Mercury/Philips were randomly mixed mono and stereo in mono jackets. Sometimes you'd even get one side mono, the other Stereo. Some history for you. Mercury was seeing if mono customers would accept Stereo discs, and if so, planned on discontinuing mono LP discs. |
