Back in the 'early' days, Pat's books and then the on-line database was based on Cashbox. Not so much, Billboard.
According to Joel Whitburn's 'Comparison Book', 'My Best Friend's Girl' peaked at #44 on Cashbox. -Bill.

I checked the actual sales figures from my record store, and found that 'My Best
Friend's Girl' sold enough copies to warrant a top 20 position. We sold more of that
than, "Tonight She Comes", which was a top 10. I attribute that to buyers already
tiring of the 'Disco Era' music and wanting to get more Rock or Punk, but I could be
wrong. -Bill.

To answer some questions about which Cars singles should
be in the database----I will add "My Best Friends Girl" as
it hit #35 on BB, #39 on RW and #44 on CB. I will delete
"It's All I Can Do" as it charted #41 on BB, #58 on RW and
#40 on CB. As for "Good Times Roll" and "Since You're
Gone" they charted below the top 40 on all publications.

There is a new deluxe edition of The Cars' Heartbeat City coming before year's end. Among the bonus tracks, the Dub Version of "Hello Again", used as the B-side of both the original 12" and 7" singles, will make CD for the first time. (The vocal 12" mix will be included as well, of course, but this has made CD a handful of times previously as you likely all know.)

Article at The Second Disc

Hopefully this release comes to digital storefronts as well as I don't really care for mixed media (CD + LP) packages.
