I don't remember ever hearing the single remix before tonight. It's very interesting! Seems like it might not only be a different mix, but at least occasionally a different take on a few lines? Perhaps not; I haven't A-B'd it.
This video is playing all 80s 7" singles, and you can hear the remix in the link below. I almost fell out of my chair when it started up! I thought I'd been playing the wrong version on my station. (I am, however, going to double-check and make sure we're playing the single edit / mix vs. the album edit.) The single remix (or club mix, as it's labeled on the promo 45) is actually the version I remember hearing on the radio in the 80s. I don't think it has any different vocal takes, but it does use different ad-libs from LP version than the LP edit does. |
