On Hit's the track is 4:03 and the music stops approximately at 3:55/3:56. Live, Live, Live the track is 4:16 and the music stops around 4:06/4:07. Music starts on both versions at about :01/:02 To me they appear to be different performances. I don't know if the Hits version is the Heaven b-side or not. If links to fair usage samples are permitted to be posted here I'll be glad to do so. Just let me know which 25-30 second of the track is desired. Hit's also contain a Live "Kid's Want To Rock" that to me seems rather different from Live,Live,Live. Again let me know about samples.

Thanks for that information! The release date for "Hits On Fire" as per Discogs is January 21, 1988 and the "Live, Live, Live" album as per Wikipedia was recorded in Belgium on July 3 1988. So if the dates are correct, the versions of "Heaven" couldn't be the same on both discs. The Wiki page for "Hits On Fire" also has a notation of "Disc 2 features hit singles from the albums Cuts Like a Knife and Reckless, with the addition of three songs from 12" singles issued in 1985. These were not issued on CD outside Japan." I assume the 3 songs they're referring to are "Diana" and the Live Versions of "Heaven" and "Kids Wanna Rock". All 3 are on the "Bryan Adams Special Mini Album" listed on Discogs that was released in Japan in 1985. (Although the statement about "Diana" not being issued on CD outside Japan would be incorrect, as it's already been mentioned that it appears on a US 3" CD Single).

There is a video on YouTube specifically labelled as "Heaven (Live At The Palladium, Los Angeles, 1985)" that seems to match what you said about the music starting at about 2 seconds in. However, the music in the video seems to end at 3:52 with an additional 3 seconds of applause before completely fading out. Is that what you meant by the music stopping at 3:55/3:56?

Also, Discogs doesn't list the running times for any of the songs on "Hits On Fire". Do you know offhand if any of the songs on Disc 2 are Single Versions? I know "Somebody" and "One Night Love Affair" have Single Versions and I believe "Cuts Like A Knife" also has a shorter Single Version and an even shorter promo version. I didn't realize at first that Disc 1 is really the "Into The Fire" album. Thanks again for the info, I'll probably be ordering this compilation.

correct 45 version, as Aaron
mentioned earlier in the thread that
the Live B-Side runs 4:11 on the 45.
I suppose it could still be the same
performance, but maybe just faded
about 9 or 10 seconds earlier than
the 45.

I'll definitely let you know when I order it, Aaron. That's what I suspected, that the 12" and "Hits On Fire" versions were the same except for the segue into "Kids Wanna Rock".
Now I'm curious as to why they let the applause go longer on the 45 when in theory they could have just faded it earlier.
