my promo cd single (csk 7847) of the song is the same as aaron's info above...my question is...the lp version w/intro is the lead track on the promo cd single which commonly is the most played version or the promoted version....but....i've always heard the second track "lp version w/out intro" as the one played on radio most.....can anyone chime in on which version they heard most time on air back in the day.....

At first, our station played the LP Version w/out Intro. Once we received the Radio Edit about a week after adding the song, we started playing that version exclusively.

While it is true that the lead track tends to be the most commonly played version, that's not always the case. There are plenty of examples when we played a cut other than track 1. For instance, our station primarily played the Rapino Bros Radio Edit of "Rhythm Of The Night" by Corona, which was track 2 on the single.

Yes, we played the LP version without intro, but only for about a week. I can't imagine many stations played the first cut on that promo, since it has a rather strange sounding intro.

Just wanted to bring up this thread once more to see if we can nail down some of the promo CD single run times for Fugees' "Killing Me Softly". Aaron mentioned the 1-track promo CD single contains the "Radio Edit" and runs 4:04.

Ed or Chendagam, do either of you have run time information handy for the 5-track promo single release on Columbia CSK 7847?

CSK 7847
1. LP Version W/Intro (listed & actual 5:40)
2. LP Version W/Out Intro (listed & actual 4:50)
3. Sound Barrier Remix (listed 4:18; actual 4:19)
4. "Fu-Gee-La" (Clean LP Version) (listed & actual 4:05)
5. LP Version Instrumental (listed 4:04; actual 4:05)

Also, the Clean LP Version of Fu-Gee-La is taken from the edited LP. You can hear the previous skit tracking over the intro of the song, and the "n" word is reversed, just like on the clean album. The CD single of Fu-Gee-La starts without the crossfaded intro and the "n" word is muted instead of reversed.
