Dutch CD is Hits Album 6

UK CD is The Hits Album 6

The Dutch disc also has the 7" remix of Paul Simon's The
Boy In The Bubble.

The UK CD is brilliantly sequenced, possibly the greatest
one disc compilation I've ever heard.

No. It was only ever issued on the two V/A CDs mentioned above, and on the recent digital download of the "La Isla Bonita" EP.

I just checked out the remix/edit of La Isla Bonita. Surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly), it has less of a Latin vibe - and also a harder snare sound.

I guess the US 7" single remix of "Borderline" still hasn't come out on a US CD or a worldwide digital release - just a Japan singles box set if I recall.

No, it was only on a couple import V/A compilations, and now it's available as a download on the "La Isla Bonita" EP.

Yes, that's correct. The download single uses the wrong version, a mix that's never been released before. Some have speculated it's an alternate Q-sound mix that was done for "The Immaculate Collection" and not used, but we really don't know. But the true 7" remix has only been issued on the Japanese Singles Collection.

That seems so crazy that the 1st top 10 hit by an icon like Madonna has never been released on CD - the version heard on the radio, the version people bought on 45 - and it's been 40 years.

I remember being VERY disappointed with the Q-sound mix I heard on "Immaculate Collection". I'm only moderately disappointed with this alternate Q-sound mix on the digital release. I don't know if it's actually closer to the 7" mix or if I'm just not remembering how the "Immaculate Collection" version sounds now.

The version included on the digital version of "The Immaculate Collection" is the album version. For platforms that support Dolby Atmos, you can listen to the Atmos remix also based on the album version. As far as coherence and being faithful to the original compilation goes, the digital version is another complete mess of a project, as is usually the case with Madonna and Warner.
