The song is listed on this Special Products disc. Don't
know which mix is on it. Wonder if it's the original album
mix or the Third one. I was referring to the song being
available on that disc with no knowledge of the mix on that
disc. Still looking for the Thoener pop mix in some form.
Will most likely need to locate a 45 single and transfer
it.

Good question, Gordon. John sent me a dub he'd found that matches your description. To me, it sounds like someone's home-brew attempt to replicate the 45 using the LP mix. Like the 45, the keyboards during the intro are more isolated and upfront than on the LP mix, but once the drums kick in, the piano shifts abruptly from center to hard left... not at all natural-sounding. The keyboards are centered throughout the intro on both the 45 and LP (or at least of what little you can hear of them on the LP.)

And, as on the LP version, the extra percussion during the 45's second chorus is also missing from the "third mix." Nor is the overall mix as dense as the Thoener remix.

I have a theory about where the 3rd mix of "Think About Love" might come from. Check out this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_About_Love

There was an 8-song LP (and cassette) released in 1986, containing 5 remixed songs. The album is titled 'Think About Love' and, of course, the song is on there. Maybe this is where the weird "third" mix comes from! I've known about this LP for a few years but always assumed the remix that was on this was the single mix. It does seem like some hands-on work was done to create the mixes on this release, so maybe this is the origin of this mix.

The third version is on CD, "Love Songs" on RCA Legacy. Sound quality is excellent.
