I'm reporting on Date 45 1549, listed and actual (2:34)
It was brought to my attention that there was a mix difference between the mono 45 and stereo LP versions. There was a mono LP, but I have no idea which mix was used on that. I compared the two mixes by sync-ing them together. All the vocals and most instruments sync'd perfectly (but mixed differently)... but the drums would not line up. Not only is it a different mix, but the drum track is completely different, not the same performance. At first I thought they overdubbed more drums, but no each version has drum hits that do not appear in the other version. The mono mix also has more drum rolls and a big reverb on the snare hits. At the 2 places where she "takes a deep breath" ... in the LP version the drums stop for a moment but in the mono 45 they keep playing. So I guess this song will need a "(stereo LP version)" version designation in the database for all entries. MM Edited by MMathews |

Mark I just obtained a mono copy of the vinyl "Let's Fall In Love" LP which is the parent LP for "Close Your Eyes" and it is identical to the stereo LP mix and definitely not the 45 version.
