In this forum's search to determine if mono singles from the '60s are
simply fold-downs of the stereo versions, or are dedicated mixes, I think I have to add this one. When I fold down the stereo version (I used the track from Donna Reed's Dinner Party) the choral vocals almost disappear. The stereo vocals are panned left and right just enough, with almost none mixed in the middle, to somehow bury them when put to mono. On the original 45 (Columbia 43626) and the Hall Of Fame reissue (33104), the singers are much more prominent in the mix. |

Somewhere My Love is a dedicated mono mix. The Stereo LP was not usable on AM and FM mono stations. It had phase issues.
