So true about the multiple versions! I have a theory about "Angelia," though,
which would explain why they are "comically close."

The LP version has an electric guitar solo at 3:00 that follows the sax solo, and
there are also some electric guitar overdubs a little later in the song. Perhaps
the engineer did a mix with the electric guitar and without, from start to finish.
Then, when it came time to shorten it up, the parts that would've had the
electric guitar were cut completely out of both versions. It's only a guess, and
as to why they released it, maybe they simply wanted AC radio to feel like they
were getting something special to entice them to listen to and add the song.

Thanks guys. I must have had the same two identical
files Ron had. Ok, now the other question: I'm assuming
the "single version" is the same as the LP Edit, but
I've learned to never assume, especially since the
listed time is the same as the AC Mix!

The LP Edit and Single Version are identical.

Is the single version just an early fade or (as it sounds from the posts) an actual edit of the LP version?

The Single Version cannot be created by editing the LP version, if I recall correctly. There is unique audio at the end of the sax solo.
