I have a 256k MP3 of the actual 45 dub.
Anyone interested welcomed to PM for a copy!

The 45 version of 'Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid'
is definitely on the Japanese import "The
Best Of Daryl Hall And John Oates".
The actual 45 version of 'Method Of Modern Love' is on
there as well.

Listening to the 45 version on the Japan "Best Of", to my
ears, the "ooooh" vocal comes in before the snare at 2:11,
so isn't the edit actually just before the snare at 2:11? I
was unable to re-create this edit, for that reason, or
maybe I could not get it at the right point. I'm wondering
if it is a unique mix, at least at the section. Just
curious what others think.

Sounds to me like the Japan CD does a crossfade at the edit point, which is not correct. The US 45 has a straight edit on the snare hit, so you don't hear the "oooh" vocal before the drum beat.
