I'm pretty sure there was no promo of the LP version with
"kicks" issued by Capitol at the time of radio promotion.

I know some stations created their own edits.

Keep in mind the 45 was a different mix than the LP. The
LP has keyboards of the previous instrumental over the
opening kick drum beats. The LP of course doesn't use the
word "kicks". The LP has the counter-melody crank guitars
come in earlier on the fade. And the fade is slower and
longer.

Many stations aired custom edits of that song to include the longer LP intro but without "sh-t". Most (including the one I
worked at) tacked the LP intro (sans "Threshold") on to the 45 version, but I recall hearing one station that edited the LP
to say "funky funk".
