It's unfortunately isn't mine, just a photo I took from Ebay, which is why I didn't provide the actual running time. |

Just bumping this back up... Does anyone have the actual commercial 45 run time for Destiny's Child's "Survivor"?

Just did a needle drop on the 45 (first time I've played it, actually). It timed out to 4:00, not the listed 4:14.

Thanks very much, cmmmbase!
So assuming the 4:00 version of "Survivor" I have on my Promo Only: Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series is the same as the commercial 45 release, I compared it to the 4:13 LP version and found a couple of differences. On the single version, the opening cymbal roll fade-in is slightly longer (by about 0.5 seconds) and sounds noticeably different than on the album version. The rest of the two recordings are identical up to the 4:00 mark where the vocals end cold and this is where the single version officially ends. However, at this point on the album version, there is less than :01 of silence proceeded by a final :12 of audio which sounds nothing like the rest of the song. The (silly) lyrics during this passage are: I will survive being fine I will survive being sexy I will survive being BOOTYLICIOUS In conclusion, "45 version" and "LP version" comments for "Surivior" will need to be added next to database CDs where appropriate. Meanwhile, I agree with Underground Dub that the 3:48 version that has surfaced on CD appears to have been edited specifically for Destiny's Child's #1s CD and therefore probably should have a "neither the 45 nor LP version" comment.
