Pure Prairie League - I’m Almost Ready

   Although there's no mention in the database, the song "I'm Almost Ready" by Pure Prairie League should have "LP version" next to the CDs listed.

The 45 version runs (2:46), and it is an edit of the LP version.  It also has one of the strangest edits I've ever heard.  The producer snipped segment between (0:01) and (0:03) and spliced it back in a few measures later.  For what reason is beyond me.

Anyhow, thanks to Edtop40 for helping uncover this difference.

	This is one of those edits which surprises me a little. I have the 45 and they take out the whole second verse and chorus. As this was a hit in 1980, songs with edits below 3:00 became rare in the '80s. It seemed that by the end of the decade, most single edits were around the 4:00 mark. I guess that's one reason why fewer songs were debuting on the Hot 100 in the later '80s - because radio couldn't play as many songs in an hour as before!

My stock 45 actual running time is (2:45), Listed time is "2:45"on the record label(CASABLANCA 2294). The LP"Firein' Up" running time is (3:40). Listed time is "3:40"(CASABLANCA 7212 US issue).
