Currently, the database contains DJ 45 info for Bee Gees' "Love You Inside Out". I thought I'd also pass along that commercial 45 copies have an actual run time of 3:49. (Timing info is courtesy of Edtop40. The printed record label time is 3:48.)

And my own US RSO 45 single is 3:49.
I turn up the good and turn down the bad!

I requested edtop40 to pass along a dub of the commercial 45 "Love You Inside Out", and he is so kind enough to send me an mp3 file. Thank you very much, ed! The reason why I need the dub is because Japan 45 has an edit. I presumed that the US 45 was same as the Japan 45. I compared the 45 file with the LP "Spirits Having Flown" (US pressing, RSO RS-1-3041, the listed time 4:08, the actual 4:09). As the conclusion, the US commercial 45 also has an edit. It is identical to the Japan 45. Therefore this No.1 single is 45 version!

We are able to distinguish between the 45 and the LP at 3:26. The spot is the word of "fire?" in the lyric "What am I gonna do if we lose that fire?". The 45 has a falsetto chorus on the "fire?" at 3:26. But the same spot on the LP is at 3:46.

I appreciate your help, ed! Also, I've got the info that ed has the commercial 45 thanks to the topic starting post by Todd. "domo arigatou", Todd!

Anybody know how to create the edit from the LP? (We know what should be at (3:26), but it's the getting to there that's important. :) )

Yes! The edit point is from "Inside out" at 3:10, to the same point (before "Inside out") at 3:30.
It is no need to do a fade out at ending.

Not to split hairs, but the edit is actually just after the "inside and out" at 3:10--before the snare hit. I also noticed that the 45 runs about 0.7% slower than the copy on the remastered "Greatest Hits." I'm not sure if the GH copy runs faster than other LP version copies or if the 45 is just a tad slower than the LP's pitch.

Aaron, you're right. I checked the edit point again, and I agree with you. I will send you an mp3 file of the LP version for comparing speed differences.

Have any of you managed to get your hands on the 2004 promo only compilation "Too Much Heaven - Songs Of The Brothers Gibb"? I picked it up years ago for a very reasonable price and it contains the single edits of most of the 1974-onwards singles from RSO. Pretty sweet, and it allowed me to scratch about 15 songs off my list in one fell swoop! If anyone wants to compare the the versions on that comp to your edits, please let me know!
