The poll only allows for 7 Poll Choices, so if your favorite decade is, say, 1950s or 1940s, please add your answer in the comments. I was speaking to one member of this group last week who said his favorite years were 1975-1984. So if you really can't commit to one calendar decade, you can answer with a 10-year period like that.

For people who participate in this poll, also please include your answer and Username in the comments. It's not just that I'm curious as to which decades get the most votes, but I'd like to know the favorite decade for each member who participates. I know many of you (though some only by Username) but not what's your favorite decade for music.

My favorite has always been the 70s. It's when I discovered music and AT40. I've always loved the variety of music that could be found in a single week's chart. To me, it's the last time that the business side of the music business looked for the next big thing, and not a bunch of things that sounded like the current big thing.

I find the 60's had the greatest amount of change in music. The 50's had the greatest change in fidelity. -Bill.

Couldn’t decide at first if I should chose 1960’s or 1970’s. After some thought I reminded myself that 1979-80 might be my favorite period of music, as there were so many different genres on the pop charts and beyond. Music seemed to be growing and expanding at that time. In my mind and to my ears, many classic songs were recorded and released during those years, especially in one of my favorite genres: power pop. So I went with the ‘70’s.

For pop, the 1980s. For hip-hop, I agree with Autumn.

I'm torn between 80's and 90's for pop ('87 to '97) being my favorite years in Hip-Hop/Dance.
